iGEM Community - Remote Lab Network

The Remote Lab Network Community had been created to foster sharing and collaboration between IGEM teams. RLN is first and foremost a network allowing partnerships between teams with a liquid handling system at their disposal and teams whose budget does not allow it. In this sense, RLN aims to promote remote DNA assembly in the framework of the IGEM competition.

  • Genesis:


DNA assembly is an essential and unavoidable element of the iGEM competition. Each year, all the teams embark on this sometimes very long process. In order to save precious time, it is possible to perform these assemblies thanks to machines (Liquid Handling System). However, access to these machines requires a budget that not all teams have. This is why we created the Remote Lab Network.


  • What is RLN ?


-RLN was born on the basis of the Remote Lab project led by the IGEM Paris-Bettencourt and Marburg 2021 teams. This network aims to promote remote partnerships between teams about DNA assembly. This network allows teams looking for Liquid Handling Systems or wishing to make theirs available to get in touch. 


-RLN also offers an updated list of machines, their location and availability as well as their specificities.


  • How does it works ?


If you are looking for a machine or if you want to make your own machine available, then create your ad in the "Projects" category. It is also possible to consult existing projects or groups, in order to contact them or participate in their adventure!
