Data on vaccination coverage from WHO, UNICEF, WOrld Bank, etc. is very heterogeneous in nature. One needs to create an API to make the bridges between different datasets.

Objectives & Methodology

Methodology:

basic data visualisation tools, data analysis including density plots, data comparison tools

State of the art

The project aims at harmonising the datasets exisiting on vaccination topics.

The project however could be merged with several other unfinished ones.

The progress of the project

The main outcome of the project were main data-resources, which were visualised during the early stage of the project. Then we found the extensive dataset from WHO where the main of the project was achieved.

The dataset from the World health organisation has the data on immunization across different countries in (1980-2018) as well as data on vaccination:

Stakeholders

Project was self-emerged by researchers from CRI, volunteers from CRI and Wild Code school.

Impact strategy

The project was targeted in creation of data lake for the vaccination topic.

We did not have a target to have an impact, at least at the starting stage and were working on several RQs.

Ethical considerations

We did not take any ethical considerations into account.

Sustainability and scalability

The project started during the hackathon organised by JOGL and co-organised by CorrelAid.

The project main idea was to make the common data repository for various kinds of vaccination from countries around the globe. We did not think about scalability, willing to keep it local.

Communication and dissemination strategy

The project was documented just on JOGL platform.

Funding

The project is currently not funded. It is a collaborative project between volunteers CorrelAid, CRI and Wild Code School based out of Paris.
