Why I think Trad-19 is important

Explaining one's medical symptoms to a doctor or a nurse is a difficult exercise in itself: on top of the pain or stress, most of us lack the medical vocabulary for the communication to be clear and precise, thus leading to misunderstandings and wasting precious time, with an impact on diagnostic and treatment.

If it is already the case in general, what about recent immigrants in a new country? The UNHCR estimates there were 25,9 million refugees in the world, and 3,5 million asylum-seekers in June 2019*.

Trad-19 aims to make communication easier between health professionals and patients over a language barrier, through native translations and visual illustrations.
