Peer review and building trust within communities

Peer-review is the foundation of no trust in Science, this track will discuss methods of peer review, open covid19 and the future of science as well as tell the story of the pandemic.

Peer Review is the central method by which humans can improve upon and correct their work. In academia, grant review and peer review are how grants are allocated and papers approved for publish. At the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic, a method for resource allocation was needed to allow for new teams of people to be established and the best ideas to flourish.

We will discuss the story of how community science has flourished since the beginning of the pandemic and the changes being made in science. We will also discuss the impact Just One Giant lab and community review are starting to make on the academic world and the stories around it. The session will be hosted by Chris LB Graham, who has been taken with this story of community review, with a guest appearance from Helpful CEO Ben Treuhaft with plans on the future of open innovation.
